Misophonia Treatment Survey

by Misophonia International (Admin)
crop unrecognizable female psychologist and patient discussing mental problems during session

The purpose of this survey is to collect data and responses from misophonia sufferers and parents about the treatments they have been offered and received on misophonia. We do not advocate or endorse any treatments. If you have received more than one type of treatment, please resubmit a separate entry for each (you can refresh the page, or use a new browser to do so).

Disclaimer:

This survey is conducted by Misophonia International, and is not an official academic paper. Academic research and scientific papers are often biased and done by gate-keepers who have their own point-of-view. The point of this survey will be to directly interact with the misophonia community, instead of academic institutions picking and choosing what is “worthy” of studying. This project does not have Independent Review Board (IRB) approval because it is an expensive process that effectively gate-keeps any research attempts. IRB approval is required for any studies that survey humans, even if it is voluntarily taken. All surveys on our website are taken on a “use-at-your-own-risk” voluntary basis, and are not meant to present an authoritative or medical perspective.

It is our hope that academic researchers and institutions will use this survey as well as our other surveys as an inspiration and starter point to direct their own research. It is very important that misophonia sufferers and advocates have a say in the research that is being conducted, yet that has not been happening.
