Free 1 Hour Video: How To Cope With Misophonia While Stuck at Home

Joy March 25, 2020 - 1:07 am

To me the above statement “Coping with misophonia, while stuck at home” is an oxymoron. I am a prisoner in my home because of Misophonia. I am tortured by the outside world and abused when I try to tell people the noise level they display is hurting me. They think I’m being a jerk, when in fact I am suffering a physical and psychological meltdown that sometimes takes me half an hour to recover from. It’s to the point where I’m afraid to leave my house. It takes me hours to talk myself into taking my dogs for a walk. I check out the window and door thirty to forty times telling myself “it looks quite now” Neighbors yell at me because they think I’m crazy and mean, and I’m not sure if they’re right or wrong.

It isn’t easy, and it doesn’t happen overnight. And, clearly, great comments alone won’t catapult you to world domination.
But they’re a critical, often-overlooked component. And most people who try it write comments that suck.

They’re capable of getting other bloggers to sit up, take notice, and ask themselves: “Who is that?”
Comments are perhaps the most misused — and least understood — weapons in the ambitious blogger’s arsenal.

You now understand the anatomy of the perfect blog comment, so you can start crafting your comments with purpose.
The days of frowning cat gravatars are over. Repetitive comments are yesterday’s news. Empty contributions have gone the way of the dodo.

It can also be used to express acceptance when someone makes a suggestion. For example, if someone suggests meeting to go to a movie, you could say “Cool! I’ll see you at 6pm”. Like “awesome”, “cool” is a popular expression for younger people, and you shouldn’t use it in more formal conversations.
“Excellent” is used to describe something very good or of high quality. Almost anything you can describe as “good”, you can also describe as excellent. It can be used when speaking to friends, family, or coworkers when you want to emphasize that something is not just ok or good, but very good.

If someone asks “how are you”, you can respond “excellent”.  Or, you could say “Have you been to the new restaurant downtown? The food there is excellent”.
“Wonderful” means great or very good. People can be wonderful, experiences can be wonderful and things can be wonderful. You can use this word in both formal and casual settings.

For example, you could say “The paintings at the art exhibition last night were wonderful”, or “I think you’ll like her. She’s a wonderful person”.
Perfect describes something that is flawless or exactly matching the need in a particular situation.

She continued to venture on open roads for weeks or months at a time, for both that body of work as well as during her travels with Casper, the latter of which was published by Aperture in the 2016 book “Highway Kind.” Kurland sold her van in 2016 after her father’s death. Casper had traveled with her on his breaks, but she hated being away from him while he was in school. She began teaching more and found a different kind of community back in New York.

Today the girls Kurland once photographed are women, some with children of their own. She has kept in touch with some and others reconnected with her through the press for her 2018 exhibition at Mitchell-Innes & Nash.

When Kurland thinks back to her memories with girls in her photos, the most vivid recollections are not the times that she fired the shutter, but the moments before. In the car, the electric energy of the girls seemed boundless.
