Dr. Brout’s Recommended Readings

Dr. Jennifer Jo Brout’s Cross-Disciplinary Book List for Understanding Misophonia

Misophonia is a complex disorder that involves (and calls for) research and understanding across different medical and therapeutic fields. Like many disorders, understanding yourself (or your child) from various neurophysiological and emotional perspectives is empowering and helpful. This is especially true as so many disorders cross over with one and other. In addition, disorders are often called by different names within different fields. This list is comprised of some the books that I have found most useful to adults, parents and therapists along the way (and that I have found most useful for myself). Please feel free to write with suggestions and books will be added.
